Spanish born, Sofía Yagüe is a quintessential cross border lawyer with a problem solving attitude. Sofia not only holds both civil and common law legal degrees, but she also holds a degree in business administration, which allows her to understand the economic side of the transactions she works in.
Sofia focuses her practice on international corporate transactions (particularly in the areas of M&A and Venture Capital) and regularly advises international growth companies and investors, mainly from Latin America and Spain, on the challenges of raising capital and how to best harmonize to the practices of the U.S. legal VC market.
Prior to joining Private Advising Group, Sofía was a foreign associate at Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office in the Corporate and Securities International Practice Group. Earlier in her career, Sofía was an associate at leading Spanish law firm Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, where she was a member of the firm’s select International Pro Advocacy Program (PPAI). While at Cuatrecasas, she worked on complex international corporate and tax matters, with particular emphasis on planning and optimizing investments in Spain by nonresident aliens and analyzing the applicability of the ETVE regime for routing investments towards Latin America.
